Journey to Zabbix Webinar, April 22, 2025

CENIC recently transitioned its Network Monitoring System from ScienceLogic to Zabbix. You can learn more in this exclusive webinar.

Dennis Cagampan, CENIC’s Director of Engineering, will walks through the evolution of our Network Monitoring Systems, the evaluation process behind selecting Zabbix, and the challenges and successes of the migration. Bryan Barnett, CENIC’s Lead Engineer in Operations, presents a demo of the system, highlighting its capabilities in action. CENIC architects and engineers also do Q&A.

Birds of a Feather: Firewalls | October 29, 2024

During the CENIC Community Technology Affinity Group (C2TAG) quarterly meeting, firewalls emerged as a key topic regarding campus challenges.

In response to this conversation, we hosted a Birds of a Feather conversation focused entirely on firewalls.

Dustin Koelzer from the Sacramento County Office of Education and Mike Ferguson from Chapman University shared their experiences about their current firewall vendors, Palo Alto and Fortinet. They shared insights about the decision-making process and provided a first-hand look into their experiences since implementing these solutions.
